The Pericles Commission is on sale October 12 in the US. The busy elves at the printers are probably making copies even as you read this. Though I honestly don't know for sure. That's a job for the excellent people at St Martin's Press. My next involvement is when I turn up in the US for a book tour in last half of October. Which I'm very much looking forward to!
Book 2, title not yet decided, is with the editors. In the fullness of time I'll receive an editorial letter for book 2. The editorial letter is written by Editor Kathleen and is full of great suggestions for improving the book. It will release probably October next year. Some time between now and then we have to think of a title.
Book 3's title will be Sacred Games if I have anything to do with it. It's set at the Olympics of 460BC. Tonight I hit 70,000 words of first draft, and it's feeling strong. It will release probably October year after next.

Will this work????
If it does, YAY I can comment again!!
I am excited for all three books to come out, and really hoping your tour brings you near me so I can get a signed copy :)
Sacred Games sounds like a great title! I hope you can make it stick!
Thanks for the update Gary!
Yay! Looks like I'll have something to look forward to in October for at least the next three years. Nice!
Ooo very exciting! Can't wait.
Welcome back, L.T.!
Glad the comment problem cleared up. In case it happens to someone else...was the problem third party cookies?
Thanks Meghan. I'll be at the mystery fan conference called Bouchercon before I do the tour, which is in San Francisco this year, and I have a feeling you're fairly close to there. Drop by if you get the chance. (And everyone else in San Francisco for that matter...)
Hi Amalia, there's a reason I want that title...I want to open with a stanza from a particular praise song. I'll pop it on as a post so you can see.
Hi Carrie, I hope you're enjoying you're writing. Your flash fiction's become quite popular!
Stephanie, the idea is a book a year. You'd think that'd be easy, wouldn't you?
I can't for the life of me work out how people like Nora Roberts manage to write 5 or 6 books a year.
Gary, I too am looking forward to your books. They sound awesome. Do you know where you will be touring in the US? (We've unofficially met online through Irene's Roman book club.)
Hi Vicky, yes, of course I know you!
For those unaware, the very dedicated Irene Hahn runs an online book club which meets every 2 weeks to discuss Roman-related books. Vicky and I are both members, and I must say they put up very well with having a "Greek" author present. Anyone interested is very welcome to join!
Vicky, I sent the publicist at St Martin's a long list of places that'd be good to go, probably more than I can reasonably visit, but apparently it's too early to book store events for October. The moment there's a list everyone here will be the first to know!
You joined the Roman chat? Oh my. Nemy invited me and I sat in a couple and felt like a kid at the grown-up's table. Those cats know what they are talking about. Definitely encourage anyone interested to at least give it a shot. :)
I'm counting on the Getty's pull to bring you to Los Angeles.
Hi Laurel,
That'd be a good guess! Also, the Mystery Bookstore in Westwood beckons.
Yes, I'll certainly drop in on LA.
If you'd care to email me your email address, I'll let you know when I'll be there, as soon as I know.
Come to think of it, I probably should create an email list, shouldn't I...
Hi Carrie, yes, those guys are definitely erudite. Luckily for me I know enough general history to get by, and Irene who runs it is *really* good about including people.
Sacred games. . . so you are not resting on your laurels. . .
Oh, very good, Geoff. Yes, I shall run this race to its end.
Whoopsie-- forgot about this comment :)
No, I actually still can't leave a comment from my home computer despite clearing cookies, etc., but now I can for some reason from my work computer despite not having done anything. It remains a mystery. But-- I'll keep working on it at home and let you know if an obvious solution presents itself.
Hmm. I can't reproduce the problem. What browser are you using?
Both at work and at home I use Mozilla Firefox.
Hi L.T.
Fine choice. Unfortunately I can't repro the error with my own firefox installation (I made this comment using it).
If you don't mind me seeing your home browser config, you could dump all your settings using this extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2109/ email the settings dump to me, and I could load your settings and see if I can work out the problem. But if this is all a lot of trouble, it would also be perfectly rational to give up. :-) I'm happy to try it if you like though.
Hope the wedding planning is going well. Have you arranged for the giraffes?
Okay, I'll try that tonight or tomorrow (as I may go home tonight and fall asleep, haha) but yes, I'd be okay with that. I want to be able to comment on your blog no matter where I am! I'll try a couple more things I've thought of before I do this, but if that doesn't work, than certainly.
Wedding planning is fantastic. Today marks the four month countdown and I am SO excited. Can't wait for it to be here :)
No real life giraffes, but I have just passed the point of arranging for giraffes at the wedding in our little murder mystery. I have a killer (pun intended) ending lined up for this one and I can't wait to finish it. Now if only I could find time to just write...
Test comment... posting from home...
NO WAY! It worked!
Yeah, I have no idea what I did, except restart about five times. But we are good to go.
YAY!
I've been away for a few days so missed the excitement of the working comment.
Glad to hear about the (literary) giraffes!
And thanks so much L.T. for sticking with the problem. I feel flattered that you were so determined.
